Macon State College features eight bachelor's degrees, plus dozens of associate and certificate programs. Designed by the University System of Georgia to offer an affordable college education, Macon State consistently ranks high in value -- excellent instruction leading to a degree that's in high demand. With campuses in both Macon and Warner Robins, enrollment for Fiscal Year 200 was 6,150 students with 763 degrees and awards conferred.
Georgia College & State University (GC&SU) is Georgia's designated Public Liberal Arts University, located in historic Milledgeville, Georgia, less than a dozen miles from the geographic center of the State. GC&SU is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award associate, baccalaureate, masters, and specialist degrees. The university also has programmatic accreditation through many organizations. GC&SU has campuses in Milledgeville, Macon, and Warner Robins offering more than 40 undergraduate and more than 18 graduate programs. Fort Valley State University (FVSU) is a historically black university with a rich teacher education heritage and the only senior college with a state-wide land-grant research and public service mission. FVSU is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award associate, baccalaureate, master and specialist degrees. While the main campus remains in Fort Valley, the university also maintains a commuter campus in Warner Robins. For Fiscal Year 2006, enrollment at FVSU was 2,176 students with 371 degrees and awards conferred.
Wesleyan College, a private college located in Macon, is the world’s oldest college for women. Wesleyan College is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award the baccalaureate degree, the Master of Arts in early childhood education, the Master of Arts in middle grades science and mathematics, and the Master of Business Administration. It is also accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music (NASM) and the Georgia Professional Standards Commission. The college offers 33 major, minor, and pre-professional degree programs with an average class size of less than 20 students. For Fiscal Year 2007, enrollment at Wesleyan College was 2,700 students with 831 degrees and awards conferred.
